About the Event
Simon Márton (born 1984) is a poet and one of the most-read Hungarian authors of the past decade. He has been publishing poems since 2004, with five books released since 2010, and has become a prominent member of the Hungarian slam poetry movement. Among other accolades, he has received the Visegrad Literary Fellowship and the Horváth Péter Literary Scholarship. By training, he is a Japanologist and literary translator. He is also the founder and owner of the independent micro-publisher Okapi Press. With some detours, he currently resides in Budapest.
About the moderator
Aniko Szucs is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dramaturgy at Queens College. She holds a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from New York University and an M.A. in Theatre Studies and Dramaturgy from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest.
